Job description

West Dunbartonshire Council is investing in its office accommodation to improve the working environment of staff and enhance the service provided to residents. This post has been identified as one which will move from its current location (Garshake Road, Dumbarton) to one of the new office sites (New Dumbarton Office, Church St, Dumbarton) within the next 6‐9 months. Applicants are asked to note the interim location and the new location for this post.

West Dunbartonshire Council is seeking an experienced Digital Engagement Officer to join its Communications team.

This is a new role and we are looking for someone who is creative, innovative, proactive and enthusiastic to help continue to develop our digital channels and deliver high levels of engagement with our communities, stakeholders and partners.

We need someone who has experience of managing social media for business, ideally within the public sector. They will have excellent written communication skills, be experienced in writing, creating and editing digital content and be adept at working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Our ideal candidate will also have demonstrable experience in planning, implementing and evaluating digital communications, of using social media scheduling software and of managing multiple social media platforms as well as experience of photography and video making.

We recognise that digital communications are one of the key tools for engaging with our audience and see this role as key in driving forward our plans for the future.
