This post is subject to funding and is for the duration of 1 year

 

Aspiring Communities Funding with support from the European Social fund have allowed us to provide an exciting opportunity to deliver a crucial and much needed project in the Garelochhead area. The main target group will be, but not exclusively veterans of the armed forces. The ideal candidate will develop and run a new, flagship project providing a health and wellbeing hub for the local community experiencing isolation and loneliness including those in recovery from adversity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for all aspects of development and management of the project
  • Management and supervision of peers and volunteers identifying social enterprise opportunities
  • The ability to be decisive and work in a confident self-managed approach, being creative and innovative in the process, particularly in securing a varied set of options to assist individuals in achieving their specific goals
  • Developing appropriate and relevant partnerships to ensure the best outcomes for participants
  • Support and promote shared values, approach and ethos of Garelochhead Station Trust and Kilmarnock Station Railway Heritage Trust
  • Develop a business plan with a view to long term strategic sustainability of the Hub
  • Establishment of a drop-in facility for veterans to share experiences and develop peer support
  • Implementation of a structured programme of activity aimed at assisting veterans with the challenges they face
  • Report to Kilmarnock Station Railway Heritage Trust Board on the impact of the project on participants and the wider community
  • Carry out all reporting requirements in line with funders expectations
  • Promote and develop key partner working with key stakeholders using a continuous approach. These should include community covenant partnerships, MoD, CPP’s and other stakeholder partners
  • Established liaison with elected members and MSP’s in order to further promote the project
  • Identifying and securing funding opportunities to further develop and increase sustainability of the project
  • Embedding and developing long term sustainable partnership relationships with existing and new funding partners
  • Being mindful of applying a cost effective approach to finance and delivery of the project, ensuring a value for money methodology is applied
