Lomond Woods Crowned Best Glamping Winners at 2017 SOLA Awards

Lomond Woods Holiday Park (Wood Leisure), a local family business from Balloch, beat off stiff competition on Sunday 29 October to be crowned ‘Best Glamping’ winners at the 2017 Scottish Outdoor Leisure Awards held at the Glasgow Marriott.

The strong competition included fantastic entries from some of Scotland’s best glamping establishments with Loch Tay Highland Lodges deservedly taking the runners up title. The Wood Leisure team took to the stage to collect their prize from The X Factor’s James Hughes.

Now in its second year, the Scottish Outdoor Leisure Awards were created to showcase and reward outstanding contributions to Scotland’s outdoor and leisure industry across 17 categories including Scotland’s Best Glamping. With over 35,000 votes cast this year the park is thrilled to have not only won but to have just been shortlisted as finalists for the 2017 awards which was a fantastic achievement in itself.

Lomond Woods Holiday Park has been owned and managed by the Wood Family for almost 25 years. Colin and Margaret started the business in 1981 in Perthshire and now two generations of the family operate five family holiday parks across Scotland under the Wood Leisure brand.

To cater for the luxury glamping market, Lomond Woods offers stylish en-suite glamping pods, complete with their own kitchenette, toilet and shower room, which provide a luxurious glamping getaway for couples and families of up to four.

If visitors prefer the more rustic glamping experience the park offers a variety of four and six berth wooden family pods complete with small fridge, kettle and heater to get that ‘back to nature’ vibe whilst still having a few ‘home from home’ comforts. Guests staying in these stylish pods also get the use of the parks recently upgraded toilet and shower facilities and modern family bathrooms.
